Small animal ultrasound: veterinary clinical solutions

Sonography is used in various clinical fields to provide a thorough understanding of the health and well-being of small animals. Superior image quality and advanced diagnostic tools can enable you to correctly diagnose acute and chronic diseases.

In veterinary practice, ultrasound has changed the approach to many health issues and can serve as valuable support in performing surgical and interventional procedures. Nowadays, an accurate ultrasound examination enables earlier disease detection and specific diagnoses.

Esaote is committed to providing the best solutions possible for all clinical applications in veterinary medicine, through a complete and dedicated ultrasound VET line.

XCrystal Technology, Esaote's Advanced Probes Technology

Highly detailed images make straightforward diagnosis

Outstanding image quality is essential, and Esaote's Advanced Probes Technology provides meticulous representation of anatomical structures. XCrystal Technology dramatically increases sensitivity and penetration to deliver sharper images and homogeneity. As a historic specialist in high-frequency probe manufacturing, Esaote offers a broad portfolio of transducers to meet all clinical needs, providing an unparalleled level of detailed imaging. This allows you to deliver confident diagnosis for patients of all sizes, from the smallest to the largest.

Automatic setting tools for immediate optimized imaging

Because ultrasound examinations can cause stress and discomfort to animals, it is essential to minimize scanning time as much as possible. Esaote offers automatic setting tools to accelerate the optimization and achieve the best image quality.

Automatic setting tools for immediate optimized imaging

With eScan technology, gain and contrast are automatically adjusted in real-time.
easyMode and easyColor provide smart optimization of the image settings using just three simple sliders on the touchscreen. By automatically managing over 40 parameters based on your imaging preferences or on region of interest, these tools will speed up your workflow and enhance the quality of displayed information.

High-frequency probes

Ultra-detailed near-field with high-frequency probes

Near-field visualization is mandatory when it is necessary to scan very superficial structures like muscles, nerves, vessels and neoformations. Also, with very small animals or puppies, a high-frequency probe is recommended. With a strong reputation for designing very-high frequency probes, Esaote offers various transducer shapes operating up to 25MHz. Based on XCrystal Technology, both the IHX 6-25 Hockey Stick and the LMX 4-20 linear arrays provide unprecedented clarity in the smallest details without compromising on deeper imaging.

micro vascularization imaging, MicroV

High-level color sensitivity for accurate micro vascularization imaging

Assessing microcirculation can be important in determining the perfusion of organs, or suspect masses. With very high sensitivity, spatial resolution, and frame rate hemodynamic analysis for micro- vascularization, microV is the answer for maximum sensitivity for small vessels and slow flow detection. With QPack, microcirculatory measurements can be achieved and standardized.

CnTI™ Clear contrast software

Ultimate contrast imaging solution for confident mass characterization

The use of contrast agents combined with real-time ultrasound (CEUS - contrast-enhanced ultrasound) scanning might aid in characterizing suspicious masses. Optimized for dedicated veterinary applications with various transducers, Esaote's latest contrast software, CnTI™ Clear, guarantees high sensitivity in bubble detection during the early arterial phase, with a long persistence of the signal in both superficial and deeper explored areas. CnTI™ Clear is compatible with Convex, Linear, and Microconvex probes, enabling coverage of all animal organs regardless of their size.

Reliable stiffness assessment for enhanced tissue information

Changes in soft tissue elasticity in different diseases may provide qualitative and quantitative information that can be used for diagnostic purposes. Strain Elastosonography is a non-invasive, reliable, and quick technique that can be used for a fast qualitative real-time assessment of tissue stiffness and elasticity. Esaote ElaXto can provide indications in many clinical applications, such as MSK, liver and spleen ultrasonography, while QElaXto 2D, Esaote Shear Wave Elastography technology, provides quantitative information about the tissue’s elasticity, together with a color- coded map representing the stiffness.

Expert cardiology solution for accurate diagnosis and cardiac follow-up

Echocardiography is the gold standard to diagnose most heart disease cases in our companion animals, allowing a clear view of the heart chambers, their contraction patterns, the heart valves, and the vessels originating from the heart. Based on clinical needs, Esaote has developed a comprehensive cardiology package and advanced solutions dedicated to veterinary practice, delivering expert diagnosis for animals of all sizes in this application.
